so we've made it to our 100th post! pretty happy that the last 5 months were consistently documented and so long as the Internet survives, the memories of this journey survives with it. this morning, we split up the training day into two parts: (1) bench press and (2) a timed workout. we started another 4-week cycle of 5/3/1 and this time, we aren't using 90% of our 1RM for the program... we're going the full 100% (ouch)!... let me stop crying.
bench press
5reps/130lbs, 5reps/160lbs, 3reps/190lbs, 5reps/210lbs, 5reps/240lbs, 5reps/270lbs
i felt flat on the last set and had a hard time getting 5 up. HD pr'd on his last set and was able to put up 6 repetitions! hopefully when we do squats tomorrow, i'll have more gas in the tank. maybe three days off was too much? anyways, no excuses. just have to reassess what i did the last three days and fix it.
next, for time
30 clean & jerks (75lbs)
here is HD's entire round:
i'd have to say this is one of my favorite exercises just cause it warms up the whole body.
results
HD: 2min 43sec DV: 1min 52sec
and that's that. can't wait for tomorrow.
get involved w/or donate to the Wounded Warrior Project
cheers,
